Dmitriy came to our rescue when another contractor totally destroyed our bathroom renovation project. He came on one days' notice and went to work totally stripping the bathroom to the bare bonres. He found numerous errors, damage and work not done to code by the previous contractor. Thankfully Dmitriy was able to start from scratch , explaining our options and his work as he progressed, and was able to produce a bathroom that is exceptional. The craftsmanship is of a very high quality and we are now comfortable knowing that the work has been done by a true professional who knows how to do things right. Mike Holmes would agree! We continually receive high compliments for the beautiful bathroom from our friends and relatives. Dmitriy also fully repainted the house (looks great!), installed new hardwood flooring in two bedrooms (very professional job) and did general repairs to our kitchen cabinetry and electrical. Our plan was to divide it into a living room and bathroom. We found Dmitry on this site and given the reviews we decided to contact him. We are very pleased with the quality of his work especially happy with the bathroom. We got a tile shower and the tile work is great. We were also very impressed by how professional he is. When he said he would call or meet with us he did and was punctual, he took great care of our belonging; he worked very neatly and is very personable. We would definitely recommend him and will probably work with him again in the future.

We've hired Dmitriy to do a full reno of our basement, frame, walls, new partitions, bathroom, electricity, floating floor, painting. Everything went well and there's really nothing I can add that was not said in the previous posts. But just to highlight a few things ... The most important thing for us was the quality of the work and yes Dmitriy delivered. We've hired some bozos to do the staircases and they did such a lousy job on the finishing that we asked Dmitriy to finish up the staining and the stringers the right way. Stairs turned out great! Whenever there were surprises or things that were unplanned for, he would call us, give us the best advice on what could be done then let us decide for ourselves, but he never went ahead and do anything extra w/o talking to us first. And another thing that we appreciated was that if he couldn't do a thing right, then he wouldn't do it at all. He preferred to refer us to other professionals. He's not cheap, on the contrary, but given the quality of the work, the seriousness, the trustworthiness I would gladly recommend him.

I had contacted Dimitry on very short notice. He responded to my email request within less than hour and was able to have my installation scheduled for the next day. The morning of the installation there was a slight delay due to winter weather/traffic and he kept me updated on his colleague's arrival time every 15 minutes, appearing sincerely apologetic for what really was a minor delay only. The installation itself was done to our complete satisfaction, the installer was polite, respected our place, covered the areas surrounding the work area thoroughly to protect from dust/damage, did a nice installation and left the place as clean as it was when he arrived. I would recommend them to a friend and would not hesitate to use their services again.

Dymitry is one of those people you meet so rarely in life- a can do guy. There has never been any job, from painting to repairing a flooded basement to fixing things in an ingenious way that has not been too difficult for him ro handle. Always on time, always cheerful and positive, completely trustworthy, I know that I can always count on Dymitry to do a great job. The biggest compliment I can give him is to refer him to all my friends, and know that they will be as happy as I am.

We contracted with Dmitriy to rebuild our basement and den. Dmitriy did an excellent job on both renovations while providing the lowest overall quote. He genuinely cares about his clients and offers helpful advice throughout to ensure that the results meet expectations. He's careful about costs and when issues inevitably arise (redoing a basement in an old house is always full of surprises) he'll suggest different options and work with you closely meet budget and timelines. Further, he has the skills to do a lot of the complex work himself, which leads to big savings in the long-term. We highly recommend Dmitriy for your home renovation needs.

Let me start by saying that we are very picky customers who are not afraid to demand what we want. We hired Dmitriy and his staff to retile a very poorly tiled shower floor that leaked. He was amazing from the start. His evaluation of the previous job was accurate and he immediately told us what needed to be done to fix it. He promptly came to remove the old tiles and replace the entire shower floor and surround, a job which was completed in three days (one day was because of our own delay). He was respectful of our space and treated us with great courtesy. He was honest and extremely trustworthy. After hiring many trades to complete our whole home renovation, I would have to say that Dmitriy was one of the best. We would definitely hire him again!!

Dmitriy has to be the most reliable contractor I have worked with. I've renovated my house from top to bottom and out of maybe 10 companies specializing in various things only 2 or 3 I would work with again, and then there is Dmitriy who is in a league of his own and I will definitely use again and again. Dmitriy did a full reno on my basement, I asked him to throw out the 70's and the not so handyman errors and start from scratch. He demolished everything and started with four cement walls. He built a beautiful bathroom/ laundry room, Family room and storage spaces. I have so much to say I think its easier to put it in a bullet format. 1) Dmitriy always answers when you call (even after you pay him) 2) If he doesn't answer he will get back to your message very quickly 3) He listens and respects your opinion 4) He is always on time no matter what 5) He doesn't BS, if he can do he says he can do it and he does it well, if he cant he says he cant do instead of mucking it up. 6) Makes good suggestions and is always looking out for his customer 7) He is quality oriented and everything he does he does excellent There were times when I told him to build something a certain way and he would start and then stop because he thought it didn't look right, He would ask me to confirm that's what I wanted and sure enough a couple of times he saved me from my own mistakes. Honestly in a job as big and complex as the one Dmitriy did in my basement there is plenty of opportunity for mistakes and frustrations but Dmitriy made it a more comfortable experience, I was never worried while at work if he was doing it properly he was very dependable. Honestly he is not the cheapest but the value for your money is difficult to match, overall an excellent value for my money. Bravo Dmitriy!

We had a sewer back-up in the basement last year while on vacation. The basement was a write-off and we had to re-do the whole thing from bathroom, laundry room, family room, floors, ceilings, electrical, ect. Dmitriy and his crew came in and performed excellent work within the prescribed delays. I am very picky with details and any concerns I had was handled by Dmitriy in a professional and timely manner. Dimitriy and his crew far surpassed our expectations in every way possible! I have endured nightmares in the past with contractors, but with Dmitriy everything was professionally done. He said it would take 8 days (other contractors said up to three weeks!), and that's exactly how long it took. The cost ended up being exactly what he said, no surprises. He made a few low cost suggestions which made a huge impact, was very happy with that. They clean as they go all day long, which is huge during renos. Was referred to them by other family members who were also thrilled with their work. Two thumbs up!!!!!

I spent about a month just trying to find a contractor that I felt comfortable working with. HANDYDMITRIY really stood out for being professional, friendly and providing adequate justification for the budget provided. Dmitriy also took lots of time to really listen to what we wanted, and came up with creative solutions to give us the bathroom we would love while sticking within our budget. We contacted Dmitriy to renovate our bathroom: reinstall a sink and a toilet, redesign the shower cabin, change the ventilation, tile and paint the walls. Dmitriy performed excellent job. Complete makeover of a Secondary Bathroom / Laundry room We hired HandyDmitriy in April 2016 for a complete re-do of a secondary bathroom / laundry room located in our finished basement. The work was extremely well done with a lot of attention to detail. Dmitriy and his team are courteous, knowledgeable and do very good work. They are reliable. When he says his team will be there at 7 am, they are there at 7 am. They put plastic up everywhere to contain construction dust and their work area is clean when they leave, however, dust WILL infiltrate no matter how hard you try to cover everything up. Russian is Dmitriy's native language but you will have no difficulty at all conversing in either English or French. Not everyone on his team is capable of communicating in English or French so, best to always deal with Dmitriy. For my project, they needed to demolish the existing secondary. The new layout meant everything; washer/dryer, sink, shower and toilet ALL had to be moved to different locations. Even though this was a complete re-do, I provided Dmitriy with only an approximate drawing of how the new space should be configured. I did NOT give him detailed plans. He immediately understood and filled in all the details and made sure everything was aligned properly and distances were respected. The rough work is done very quickly and the detailed work, more slowly and meticulously. By the end of day one the old room was completely demolished; the cement floor was opened to accommodate the drains for the new locations of the plumbing and new cement was poured ! The tiling took much more time, but it's perfect, level, square and with uniform joint spacing. Here is what I might do differently next time Be better prepared. PLAN your project thoroughly. Try to know exactly what you want. ANY contractor will add anything you add, to the invoice after the project starts. In an old house, assume there will be surprises. As part of your turn key contract with Dmitriy, some things are included', but these items may or may not be to your taste and liking, or the initial allowances in the contract might not be sufficient to cover the quality of the items you expect. Dmitriy provided me the coordinates of his cabinet guy', who custom made floor-to-ceiling, built-in storage for our project. The money we saved there (compared to some other suppliers) more than compensates for any items that might have cost more than similar, store-bought ones. In the contract the allocation for your floor / shower tiles and paint was largely insufficient. Dmitriy deducted those costs during the final adjustments. No problem there. It's just that your project WILL cost you more than what is in the contract, unless you buy all your stuff at Rona. So, ensure you figure out all the stuff you want up front and avoid any surprises like this. Also, either buy all my own stuff; heaters, fans, faucets, lights, knobs, tiles, paint, etc OR, have Dmitriy supply them, but I suggest you ask to see samples of everything that's included before signing the contract. We are super happy with the new room. It looks fabulous and the cases I cited above aren't really THAT important and could be avoided with better planning. Dmitriy and his team did a great job, very well executed and on time. I recommend them with a completely clear conscience and will likely do other projects with him in the near future.
